What is inside Our Very First Playbox?
Our special packages come filled with a surprise assortment of sensory tools and toys for your children. Items in the box are sourced globally and hand-picked by our Paediatric Occupational Therapists, with an emphasis on items which have proven effective during therapy or ignited children’s shared attention. Each item is accompanied by recommended activities and screen-free educational play ideas to engage your child in multi-functional ways.
Examples of some of the items include putties, textured toys, unique tactile fidgets and fine motor craft games. Purchasing the box also gives you access to our live online workshop, Q&A sessions and Private Facebook support group.
What is the customer profile?
We are hoping that when you fill out the customer profile we are able to get to know you a little better and can adapt our future boxes to meet your child's needs.
Who can benefit from the Kid Skills Playbox?
Our Playbox is suitable for children 3-8 years old. Your child does not need to be behind on anything to benefit from the toys and activities. It is filled with enrichment activities and regulation tools suitable for all children. However, children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder and/ or children with sensory processing needs, hyperactivity, developmental delay, will get even greater benefits from the customised sensory therapeutic items.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy is often abbreviated as "OT". The confusing part about OT is the word "occupation". People have many ‘occupations’ in their lives that bring them meaning, purpose and fulfilment in which they participate in daily life. Children’s occupations are to grow, develop through playing, learning, socialising and taking care of themselves. The goal of Occupational Therapy for children is focused on providing children with the tools and support to be able to functionally participate in and succeed in these activities throughout their day.
OT's use a holistic approach to their practice. They focus on wellness, managing chronic neurological or developmental conditions, improving function and supporting independence. So the Paediatric Occupational Therapist will engage the child in fun therapeutic activities that would provide children opportunities to develop the skills they need to participate in their everyday life with their families, at school and lead happy and meaningful lives.
